Brennan to compete in 'Talentquest'

Beth Norris Brennan, a 1988 graduate of Aitkin High School and the daughter of Carol Norris and the late Chuck Norris of Aitkin, won first place in the "Ultimate Karaoke Star" competition held in the Twin Cities on Aug. 22. The competition had gone on for months.

Brennan will be representing the states of Minnesota and Michigan at the international "Talentquest" competition in Laughlin, Nev., Sept. 20-26. Part of her prize was the paid entry fee, paid flight and hotel to compete nationally. VH1 television plans to cover the event.

Her winning songs were Celine Dion's version of God Bless America and Ike and Tina Turner's River Deep, Mountain High.

Brennan's band, Sugar Buzz, recently performed at Riverboat Days.
